GCW Show postponed due to Weather

Dear Riders,

Due to the weather, and the fact that no one has been able to practice consistently, we are postponing the GCW practice show that was scheduled for the 16th March.  Our grounds are not in the best of shape to host this, and from weather reports, rain will continue to visit us.

Regards,
The Committee, GCW

Dear Riders and Interested Parties

The elected secretary of NAMEF, Alet Wittman, has decided to resign from the NAMEF committee and we have, in accordance with the Constitution, co-opted Tatjana Mills as the new Secretary.

Only those individuals who have moved close to the NAMEF Committee will appreciate the amount of work that goes into this portfolio on the committee.

We therefore thank Alet for her hard work in the past and wish her all the best for the future.  At the same time we welcome Tatjana into our midst and we believe that we will establish a good working relationship.

Kind regards

Riaan van Rooyen
NAMEF Chairman on behalf of the NAMEF Committee

ZIMABWE WINS AGAIN AT INTER-AFRICA

With competitors converging from all corners of South Africa as well as from Botswana, Mauritius, Namibia and Swaziland, and a total of just over 5000 entries, the Easter Festival was sure to be a success … again!

Inter-Africa competitions were held in Dressage, Showjumping and Vaulting.  What was very impressive was the standard of both horses and riders from Zimbabwe, a country fraught with problems, yet the Zimbabweans are blessed with a determination to rise above all.  And rise above all they did, with the Zimbabwe A and B Teams coming 1st and 2nd respectively in the Show Jumping competition.  Had they fielded a dressage team, they would likely have done very well in that as well.  South Africa A Team had to be content with 3rd place in this competition.

In the Inter-Africa Dressage competition, South Africa were the victors with Swaziland coming 2nd and Namibia 3rd.
